Avantis Estate
Located in the main town of Chalkida on Greece’s second-largest island, Evia, Avantis Estate carries a family legacy of
three generations of viticulture. In 1994, the third generation, Apostolos Moundourihas, began producing wine.
The estate cultivates 20 hectares of vineyards situated between 250 and 500 meters, ranging from gentle to steep slopes.
Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, the grapes benefit from a long ripening period.
Apostolos is also renowned as a Syrah expert: his Syrah has been ranked among the world’s top 10, and he continues to
receive numerous awards every year. Moreover, he played a pivotal role in reviving the nearly extinct Mavrokoundoura
variety of Kymi in Evia, helping to establish the island as one of Greece’s notable wine regions.
